Sunshine Care job seekers enjoy a five day Recruitment and Induction Training Week. This includes practical care practice, manual handling and transference, first aid, fire safety, abuse awareness, food hygiene and health and safety. New staff are also given the opportunity to shadow experienced carers to ensure that they meet the same high standards expected of the company, before they start their new jobs.
Our care workers are encouraged to enrol on NVQ Level 2 in Care courses. Because we provide this training free of charge most staff are willing to improve their skills and dedicate their time to achieving this valuable qualification. Some will use their spare time on assignment to study and write their essays. A few of our care staff continue on to achieve NVQ 3 and above.
NVQ 2 training must be undertaken with our sister training company ACE Quality Training Ltd within three months of joining our organisation. This is an essential requirement for all employees of Sunshine Care. Our self-employed personal assistants (PA's) are also offered this opportunity to enhance their likelihood of being offered jobs as a carer.
