we provide you with a carer who can live and travel with you...

Live in Care Services

This is for clients who need continuous care for varying lengths of time. We are able to provide you with a Care Support worker or Personal Assistant (PA) to live with you in your home. For more details telephone 08452 600670; or visit the Sunshine Care Nursing Agency website.

Many of our clients use our service when their family member needs a holiday. See Respite Services. Similarly, we often provide live-in care when our client needs temporary support through a period of convalescence or recuperation when returning from hospital.

We will visit you in your home to discuss your needs prior to placing a care assistant with you. A Service User Care Assessment and Care Plan is produced, through consultation with each client, to ensure we gather accurate information about care needs, wishes, preferences and personal goals. It is important to us that you feel totally comfortable with your care assistant, both personally and professionally.

Delivering a consistent high quality service is our priority; and we ensure this high standard by careful recruitment of the best care support staff we can attract and the ongoing monitoring of their performance throughout their employment.

Live-in care provides you with an alternative to a residential or nursing home. Your care support worker or Personal Assistant (PA) lives with you, providing round-the-clock support. Try this service before opting for a nursing or residential home, which is a big step to take, and often a decision which is difficult to reverse.
Live-in Care gives relatives and friends the reassurance that their loved one is being looked after in their own home, with their individual needs addressed and their personal wishes fulfilled. Clients have the continuity and comfort of staying at home in familiar surroundings and the cost is comparable to a good quality nursing care home.

We offer two levels of service with 24-Hour-Live-in-Home-Care:

1. GOLD SERVICE - Sunshine Care can introduce you to Live-in Workers for whom a weekly Agency Introduction Fee is charged.

Personal Assistant Care Workers introduced in this manner are not employees of the Agency. Their salary and travel expenses are paid directly to them by the client at the end of their assignment or working week according to your agreed arrangements. The costs to you can be as little as £512.40 per week for a self-employed Personal Care Worker on our Live-in Care Gold service; and from £669.20 per week for a Personal Assistant (PA) providing specialist care, (including agency charges inclusive of VAT).

Should a client wish to engage a "worker", introduced by the Agency, on a private basis, a permanent Placement Fee is charged.

2. PLATINUM SERVICE - With this service, which meets and exceeds Care Quality Care standards, care staff are selected to support a client in the best possible way. They will be direct employees of the Sunshine Care Ltd. These carers are supervised on a weekly basis and further annual update training is mandatory, to ensure that staff are kept up to date with new legislation, such as manual handling and health &safety updates.

Sunshine Care directly supports these staff with payroll. Costs for care using this method are generally 28% higher, but you do not have to pay the VAT on the agency charge element.

For further information please do not hesitate to contact us by telephone on 08452 600670; or visit the Sunshine Care Nursing Agency website.

Our care packages will vary from short-term respite, convalescent care or companionship care.

Couples at home. For those with very high dependency needs we will deliver more intensive packages, sometimes involving two carers at a time, if this is what you want.

If you are keen to stay at home rather than going into residential care then you will find that the cost will not be much more when compared to the care home fee of those establishments that provide a quality service like ourselves in The Retreat Care Home in Plymouth.

Your live-in care support staff will carry out personal care tasks, such as helping you to get up, washed and dressed, assist you to go to the toilet, all at your own speed and to your own timetable. They will be available to cook meals, do light housework and shopping. They can provide outings to places of local interest and look after your pets.

Because we endeavour to place the same carer(s) with you on an ongoing basis you will benefit from a continuity of companionship, routine and care.

We can arrange packages of care to facilitate a safe and prompt hospital discharge back to your home, supporting you with convalescent care until you regain your independence.
