We have an excellent team of care assistants at Sunshine Care and always welcome new faces. If you are a kind, friendly and caring person and have a satisfactory Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) enhanced discosure and references from past employers we would love to speak to you. It would be advantageous if you had your own transport.

All of our Care Assistants have a common interest and desire to provide a first class service to our clients.

Recruitment and Induction Training Week

We have a 4 day induction course that all employed carers attend to ensure that they are trained to the highest level to meet with CSCI standards and be proficient in their jobs and work assignments. This includes training in practical care, manual handling, first aid, medication, adult safeguarding, fire awareness, abuse, food hygiene and health and safety. If you haven't done care work before we will take our time to ensure that you are trained to a high standard of care and feel confident.

For any clients with specific needs further training will be given.

Work Available

We have many types of work available for care assistants; Residential Care, Care Agency shift work, Domiciliary Care and Live-In Care.

Some of our Care Assistants do Live-in Care, and also Hourly Home Care or Agency shift work, when they do not have a Live-In client, it is up to you which you choose. We can help you decide which type of work will suit you better; but you can always shift betwwen services if your circumstance change. We can even find you another job by introducing you to another care company. We are not competitive in that way - we want you to be happy doing the job that brings you the most satisfaction that suits your personal circumstances. If we are kind to you, hopefully you will stay with us; or if you go and find a job elsewhere, with our support, then maybe you will return to us one day.

Wages

Domiciliary care work wages are at least £7.36 weekdays, £8.86 weekends with travelling expenses. Those who have achieved NVQ care qualifications, and apply this in practice by assuming greater responsibilities, may receive enhancements to this basic pay for their work.

Live-In Care support staff pay is generally between £60 and £80 per day , depending on the client and their needs. The higher the level of care required the more you will be paid.

Sunshine Care Nursing Agency work pay rates depend on the level of your care experience. Please ask for more details.

We will have a chat over the telephone and explain further any information that you may require. At this stage we will establish which area of work you require, i.e. Nursing Agency, Hospital or Care Home work, Domicilary Care or Live-in Care, LD Support, etc.

Confirmation of your interview time and an application form will then be posted out to you. Should you be successful at your interview we will arrange for a criminal record check to be completed and schedule a time for you to be trained. Once we have acceptable references/CRB check back and you have successfully completed our training courses we will endeavour to match you with clients that would be suitable to your preferences, skills and availability.
